The Gorge Downwind Champs is looking for 6 reliable drivers to help run equipment shuttles during race week, July 13-18, 2026. If you enjoy being around outdoor events, paddling culture, and the energy of the Gorge in summer, this is a great opportunity to be part of one of the premier downwind paddling events in the world.
Position Overview
Drivers will operate shuttle vehicles towing trailers transporting boards, kayaks, and gear between the Skamania Fairgrounds, Stevenson WA and Home Valley Park, WA in Columbia River Gorge.
Dates
- July 13–18, 2026
- Full-week availability strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely transport equipment between venues
- Tow paddle-craft trailers
- Assist with loading and unloading gear
- Maintain shuttle schedules and communicate with event staff
- Help ensure smooth and professional event logistics
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Comfortable towing trailers
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to work long, active days in varying weather conditions
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience towing trailers
- Familiarity with paddlesports or outdoor events (preferred)
- Knowledge of the Columbia River Gorge area
Compensation
- Paid position $25-40+/hour
- If you’d prefer to use your person vehicle to tow, additional compensation available
- 40 hours of work over 6 days guaranteed
- Event apparel and meals/snacks provided
