$45,450/yr salary – half route.

3/4-full time year-round career contract rural mail carrier. Independent contractor position.

Delivery experience preferred.

Half the route evaluated at 1427 annual hours, 4.71 hrs/day, 28.26 hrs/week (2854/9.42/56.51 for full route),  303 service days generally mon-sat except that the federal holidays that the post office is closed on are off. You will be splitting the route with your partner carrier. You can split the route however you want (3 full days/week, 6 half days/week etc) as long as all the mail/packages get delivered or attempted. You will be signing a contract taking responsibility for the mail route. It is possible to receive a fine for any issues. You can hire/sub contract to whoever you’d like (pending they’re approved by the USPS) in order to get the job done. Pay is based on evaluation, meaning there’s a set rate, regardless of amount of hours worked.

Must have own vehicle, mid size or larger recommended.  You and your partner carrier must have flexibility to solely cover the whole route (double day rate) in times of sickness/emergency/vacation etc.
