Position Summary

Syncline Winery is seeking a motivated, hospitality-driven Tasting Room Lead to join our team. This is a key sales position that supports daily tasting room operations while helping deliver exceptional guest experiences rooted in Syncline’s wines, values, and sense of place.

The Tasting Room Lead works closely with and reports to the Wine Club & Hospitality Manager and the General Manager, and serves as the floor manager in the absence of the Wine Club & Hospitality Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm, knowledgeable, and engaging hospitality to all guests
• Lead guided wine tastings, sharing the Syncline story and farming / winemaking philosophy with guests
• Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for guests and fellow Syncline team members
• Actively sell wine and wine club memberships in the tasting room, at offsite events and during phone sales campaigns
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tasting room, restrooms, and outdoor areas
• Assist with daily tasting room operations, including opening/closing, customer service, and point-of-sale accuracy
• Preform managerial closing tasks such as reconciling cash till, checking that orders have been released correctly, and updating sales goals
• Act as floor manager when the Wine Club & Hospitality Manager not present
• Help train and support tasting room staff to ensure consistent service standards and sales goals are being met
• Assist with packing shipping orders when needed
• Assists our team in bottling twice a year
• Support local wholesale accounts including delivery, tastings, and education
• Follow all Washington State liquor laws and company policies

Qualifications

• Background in hospitality, wine, or customer-facing sales
• Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong sales skills with a natural ability to connect with customers
• Team player who enjoys collaborating and supporting others
• Comfortable leading shifts and making decisions when management is unavailable
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Availability to work weekends and occasional evenings events
